'Danger of a Single Story'

What does it mean to have a 'single story' about a place or community?

To have only one idea about a place or race or just like a person that looks acertain way.

Describe a single story you have heard told about your community. What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community?

The single story I have herd about my community is that every body on the east side is dumb.But that's not true because I go to a school full of smart people from the east side.

Well when I was little I spent allot of time with my grandma.She had a single story about North Austin (i.e Ceder Park, Leander,e.x),that they all were white rich snobby people that looked at people from East Austin like they were dirt. Then one time me and my mom went up there to do something and they didn't act like that the people up their were brown like me it wasn't at all what my grandma told me. I had a single story about them and i wasn't true at all.

How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or community?

Maybe if we made like options for people to go to the slums or to the high class of India and show different life styles so people don't get a single story.

A New Year

Well this is my 9th grade year also know as freshmen year also the first year as high school. It was not how i expected it to be. I have been planing this year for a long time and I thought I would be scared but really it was nothing new. I kinda don't like that we are with the 7th and 8th graders even though we're high schoolers it kinda gets on my nerves....They should have just stayed at the Jain Lane campus and not have added the the elementary. And don't even get me started with the schedules kids were everywhere and it was just a mess. We had our schedules changed at least 3 times.

Some of my plans were to be in a play. BUT they had to cancel Theater arts so yeah oh well...... Some other plans are to go head on in some my game for this year I want a good game and I want it to look professional. I also want to be into the art scene more because I really like art but I'm not that good at it. Oh well I still like it.

I think that the article was very informative it gave specific details about the people that one it gave them special recognition exactly what they deserve. It does make me feel regretful because I didn't win anything but also proud about what our students here can do.My game wasn't featured but if was to be there it would be very amazing yes im regretful that I didn't do better.I would of liked the author to have said that my game was amazing and that this school is proud of having students like us. Aleida sanchez game was a really awesome game it is fun and educational at the same time with a hint of humor it is fun and should be recognized for who REALLY worked on it, not because there are more than 2 people in the team they should ll get recognized but only who really worked on it

Divine Intervention: The Final Game

Hello people as you can tell by the title of my blog I finished my Final Game!!!! My team name is Unknown (that's the real name) and the title of my game is Divine Intervention. The topic of my game is History or World War II and my learning goal is to tell you guys as much as I can about World War II. The player will get all the information about World War II in the about part in my game. I would like to add and improve a lot of thing for my game. First I would want to make it a first person shooter and not a mini game and I would also want to add the other war I wanted to add. The most challenging part about making my game was the my partner and I were first in the same period then we got our schedule changed. We both wanted the idea so we worked together on the game in different class periods. That was a fail because we were communicating not as well as we should have and that's why the game is the way it is. The part I'm most proud about is everything I learned. From new codes to the Civil War it was a fun experience and I like having the new knowledge that I have. Now that you have heard about the game I bet you want to see it so here is my game hope you like it I personally think I could have done better but oh well it was due.....
